Stacked: Apartment Living

So it's been a long time coming but we finally got our shit together enough to take photos of the place. People have been asking, but as you can see it's nothing fancy.
Taken from the balcony doors, you see the hanging shelf we put in? More creative storage! Also you can barely see in back, my old computer desk from living on Holmes Ave has a slide out shelf for the keyboard so that's what we have to use for our flatware. Here is the legendarily tiny kitchen, it has no drawers but over the months we found a couple of items next to the garbage bin in the garage. The black thing serves as our cubby holes (keys wallet etc) and the tan thing in the center of the photo has drawers so I had to snatch it up and put it it use. We keep pantry items in the biggest of the drawers. Unfortunately, our pots/pans live under the sink :( it's the only kitchen storage that came with the place below counter level. Pretty smooshed in right here but we make it work.
Our drawerless bathroom, we had to go to Ikea and get some baskets to hang on the wall. It helped a lot (there are more than pictured) but still so annoying, seriously, no drawers in the whole apartment. They failed to mention this when we were looking at the floor plan! I feel obligated to say it. *Ahem* This is where the magic happens. *rolls eyes*
This photo was taken outside on our patio one Sunday afternoon, I just had a pedicure (where they dipped my feet in wax!) and opened a bottle of Pinot. Dave was cooking us dinner in our tiny-ass kitchen.
Those are the "exciting" photos I have. The summer was beautiful here, even though the locals claim it was a bad one. Didn't really get too hot and fall has been pleasantly sunny and chilly, but according to the news, the rain... is... coming... I feel like it's some sort of monster and we need to board up the windows and doors and hope to reach the other side of winter unscathed. I don't think these people have ever survived a MN winter and I predict more sun then everyone claims there isn't, people (myself included) like to dwell on the glum things and complain, but I guess at least it's something that unites us. You can always talk to strangers about the weather and they don't think you're weird.
I'll leave you with a quote relating to apartment living. This is an insanely easy one and if you don't know it, you're really missing out on a great flick.
"I could just be sitting at home with pee stains on my rug."

Bloggery

Testing, testing, 1-2-3. I started a blog. Hopefully it'll be a fun and therapeutic outlet for me and a way for people to be able to keep in touch from 2 to 2000 miles away. We'll see where the content takes us. I'll end each posting with a movie or TV quote, which may or may not be related but I'll see how it all ties together as I go along. Feel free to comment if you recognize the quote, I have some obscure references from time to time and always enjoy seeing if other people get the reference. Anyway, that's enough for now. Until later on... "We'll begin, with a spin, traveling in the world of my creation. What we'll see will defy explanation"
